In My Mailbox/ It's Monday. What Are you Reading?

I had a quite book week, and didn't receive any review books. I'm trying to be more selective on review books, and accept much less. I don't like feeling overwhelmed, and I still buy a lot books. This week I purchased one ebook, I've heard so many good things about this book.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading This Week? This is a weekly event to list the books completed last week, the books currently being read, and the books to be finish this week. It is hosted by Sheila from One Person’s Journey Through a World of  Books so stop by and join in!

January has been a great reading month for me. I've been reading more adult fiction, and a little less Young Adult books. I love Young Adult, but sometimes I feel I need more variety. Young Adult has a lot of fantasy, paranormal, and dystopian and I don't want to feel like i'm reading repetitive themes. I feel like the balance of adult fiction, and young adult has been really refreshing for me.

This week I reviewed:

Books Read:

  1. I'm interested to see what you think about The Marriage Plot. I've been putting off reading, even though I loved The Virgin Suicides, because it just didn't sound as interesting to me.

  2. Hi Jennifer,

There are so many great books highlighted in your post this week, although the only book that I would probably want to add to my reading list, would be the S.J.Watson, it has received some fantastic reviews.

I must be about the only person in blogland who hasn't owned or read this book yet, and can't believe that they have changed to cover already, I can't decide which one I like the best.

I checked out your reviews for the week and they are all really great and informative.

    Have a great reading week.

  3. I just finished Cinder and thought it was awesome, and I am about one disc away from finishing The Marriage Plot which is totally absorbing my attention. It's a really great book. Very smart. I also will be interested in hearing what you think about Before I Go To Sleep, as that was something I read last month, and had mixed feelings about. Great stack of books here!

  10. Ooh I loved Before I Got to Sleep and hope you enjoy it too. And I can definitely relate to not reading the same types of books all the time - I have to vary the types of books I read, or else I get in a rut.

  12. I am now officially going on a book-buying ban (self-imposed!). I have been way too click-happy lately, and all of a sudden I have a tower of books and a growing collection of ebooks that are just waiting to be read/reviewed! I can also understand the draw behind branching out into adult fiction - I love YA, but it can definitely get a little repetitive.

Off to read your review of Cinder!

  13. I loved Before I Go To Sleep. It was pretty creepy and thrilling. I am being a bit more selective with my review books too. I have so many books that I want to try to read this year already.

  14. Oh Angel Burn! I really enjoyed that one. It took a little while to get into since we switched from first person to third person to back again, but once I was in I love it. A very interesting take on angels. Can't wait to see what you think!

  19. Hi: I got part way into Before I go to sleep and haven't finished it - I don't think it is the book, I'm just in a phase where I'm not as into mysteries, but it will come back - happy reading, Ruby
