Google Reader Retiring
Hi everyone,
I'm sure you've heard that Google Reader is retiring. We'll be forced to follow blogs through other services. I'm going to look into other options, I'm not sure what's the best one for me yet. I'm really disappointed with Google Reader. I feel like Google products are really unreliable lately. Feedburner seems to be the next to go. I'm questioning if staying with Blogger is a good choice. At this point, I just don't trust them. I'm not ready to move my blog, I just moved it from Iwebs when Apple retired that platform.
I do have Bloglovin, and I'm going to be using it in the meantime while I check out what others are using.

I liked that Google Reader hooked right into my email. I don't know what this means for GFC though since that hooks into GR right now. Will we be forced to use Google + (which is sort of horrible btw). I'm trying to see what other RSS feed readers there are out there. I'm hoping I find one that I like!
ReplyDeleteGoogle + is not user friendly, I REALLY don't like it. I'm sure Google Friend Connect is the next to go. I took the widget off my blog months ago, because it suddently dropped half of my subscribers.
DeleteGosh, this is new. I have a blog list on blogger, posted on my website. One way to keep track....
ReplyDeleteI tried Bloglovin' but it is not for me..... I switched to Feedly which works great so far.
ReplyDeleteI've been trying out Feedly but don't like it the way I do GR. I'd pay a small fee to stick with GR. This just ticks me off.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I would pay to keep Google Reader. I would also pay for Blogger to have a premium service with more available.
DeleteI'm so bummed. I too am trying BlogLovin among other things. Feedly is ok. Let us know what you settle on.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to wait and see what happens. I've reacted too quickly in the past and it wasn't always helpful.
ReplyDeleteI'm currently trying Feedly. So far I'm okay with it, we'll see how it goes over the longer term.
ReplyDeleteI switched to feedly last month because google reader was not working on my ipad. However, when I log in, it syncs with my google reader account, and I'm not sure how it will work once GR is gone. Ug.
